PROJECT HIGHLIGHT: Baylor High School Golf Paradise

Our Southwest Greens of Atlanta crew teamed up with Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to create a golf haven that students will enjoy all summer long. Known for excellence on and off the field, Baylor High School now boasts a professional-quality artificial turf setup that brings golf practice right to campus.

We transformed a section of their grounds into a 3,300 sq. ft. Golden Bear, with the entire project totaling roughly 5,000 sq ft. Surrounding the putting green, we installed SWG Natural 65oz fringe to give it a realistic look and feel. A 12×41 ft. tee line of GB175 sits just steps away, offering plenty of room for students to practice full swings.

A custom logo section — 41×5 ft. in using 195 SW Elevate 45 (white, grey, and red) — adds school spirit, thanks to our partner’s precise print work. Under the turf, we set up a base that allows us to fine-tune the Stimp rating so that ball speed and roll mimic real-course conditions, even under heavy use.

Our crew dialed in the Stimp speed during installation based on expected foot traffic. By choosing the right materials and build techniques up front, Baylor’s putting surface delivers consistent ball roll that mirrors real-course conditions. Coaches get a reliable green every day, engineered to challenge golfers of every skill level.
