A Championship-Ready Putting Green
We are proud to showcase this installation at The Master's University in Santa Clarita, California, completed by the team in Southern California. The university's golf team needed a practice facility that could genuinely replicate on-course conditions — not just a functional surface, but a true training tool built to perform at a competitive level. That's exactly what Southwest Greens delivered.
Project Details:
- 2,000+ sq ft putting green
- Stimp speed of 11 with true roll and natural break
- Dual chipping turf zone on one end for short game practice
- Designed to replicate real golf course playing conditions
The team's primary requirement was authenticity. The green was engineered to a stimp speed of 11, the same range players encounter on well-maintained tournament courses, with breaks that read naturally and a ball roll that stays true from any line. This is a surface the golf team can trust to sharpen their putting game with confidence that what they practice on will translate directly to the course.
On one end of the green, two different turf varieties create a dedicated chipping zone where players can work on distance control, trajectory, and short game touch across varying surface conditions. It's a detail that elevates this installation from a standard practice green into a fully realized training environment.
